Bowery Mission Volunteering Day #3 (4/22/21)

 Bowery Mission - Wikipedia

Today I volunteered for meal prep again from 2:00-4:00PM. I realized that this is the perfect time for me to volunteer, so I signed up for this exact time for the next few weeks. There was one other volunteer there and the same kitchen staff was there from last time. I checked in, got my red apron on, got my hairnet on, washed my hands, then put gloves on. The main chef Ron said it was nice to see me there again. My first job was to clean the tables that were in the eating area. (There were no people there.) Each table was divided with clear plastic dividers because of covid. They are very covid friendly. Then I put some fancy-looking bread from paper bags onto a serving tray, along with some cheesy bread. Then I put some chocolate babka into a crate and put that away. The other volunteer put a few pieces of chocolate rugelach on white plates for later. For the final hour, the other volunteer and I put utensils in plastic bags and then put the bags into a clear bin so it would be easier for the next volunteers to put the packaged meals into the bags and give them to people. It was a fulfilling day and everyone was so nice there, as usual, can't wait for next week!
